Swedish massage

Swedish massage is the most popular of massage modalities. It involves medium pressure, gentle kneading of muscles, and long, gliding strokes. Normally, Swedish massage is more relaxing than deep tissue because it works on soft tissue and more superficial muscles. Your massage therapist will focus on any specific areas of tension, while still loosening up the entire body to allow complete stress relief. For newcomers in massage therapy, Swedish massage would be a perfect choice.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage can vary from medium to very deep, intense pressure. Individuals who work out more regularly or are more athletic usually prefer deep tissue massage. Muscle tension or chronic pain could be best addressed with this kind of massage. Please note that deep doesn’t necessarily mean painful. Each massage is personalized to your comfort level and should never hurt.

Prenatal massage

Prenatal massage can be one of the biggest reliefs for a mother-to-be! The woman lies on her side with a pillow under the head and hugs a second pillow. Pregnancy and childbirth cause major changes to the entire body and those aches and pains shouldn’t be ignored. Low back and glute muscles are the main focuses to help ease discomfort brought on by a growing belly at any stage of pregnancy. Many pregnant women still experience neck, foot, and shoulder tension that can safely be addressed by massage therapy. Your therapist is fully certified to understand the areas and techniques to avoid in pregnancy.

Postpartum Massage

Postpartum Massage is an excellent way to stay in touch with your ever-changing body. It specifically helps women recover from pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as adjust to new aches and pains. Tensions arise in the neck and shoulders from holding your new baby. Back pain can develop quickly as well, from carrying the baby or picking up the car seat, etc Postpartum massages can be enjoyed in different ways:

  • Your baby (up to 6 months) can be in your arms while breastfeeding or sleeping
  • Your baby can be in a car seat in the room while you get massaged

You can come on your own

Massage Therapy - Scar Tissue Therapy

Scar Tissue Therapy

Surgical procedures or tissue damage can result in unsightly scars. Scar tissue therapy can help reduce the pigmentation or thickness of a scar.. Best results generally come from frequent sessions following injury or surgery for up to 6 weeks. Each case is different, but consultation for this modality is free.

Trigger Point Massage

Trigger Point massage is also known as neuromuscular therapy or myofascial release. The purpose of trigger point massage is to eliminate pain and remind the muscles of their purposes and total range of motion. It involves concentrated pressure on the areas of greatest muscle tension or spasm. This massage usually produces initial soreness and “good pain.”

Sports Massage

Sports massage utilizes specific strokes and movements to help an athlete obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning. This modality helps to relieve sore muscles, increase endurance, mobility, and power both before and after exercise. In a regular maintenance program, sports massage is a vital tool in keeping athletes primed for peak performance and in lengthening careers.  Increase circulation, unlock myofascial restriction, improve ROM! It is recognized and widely used by athletes, sports teams, and clubs.
